A few of my old poems and works in progress.

Shattered Lights
We're the broken...
Begin, middle and end.
Where I stand.
Envy.

Shattered Lights
« Reply #1 on: March 23, 2015, 01:20:07 AM »
The simple act of kindness,
Led coldness through my heart.
Ever spitting violence,
Was broken from the start.

We can try and win here,
What else can I say?
We were sworn to forget,
And not to break away.

We're the broken...

We're the broken, the fallen, the ones you want to be,
The distant, the saviours, the ones you cannot see.
We're the honest, the judgement, and that's who we are,
Now listen to me closely and you will go far.

We're the hidden, the 'freaks' the lost souls of eternity,
We speak out in turn, but we never see,
Believe it our quest we turn towards a lie,
Honesty or justice, we will never say goodbye.

We're the saviours, the lost cause and maybe now you'll know,
We were listening to each moment and we will never go.
To a world who once swore it wasn't a game,
Justice and death counts are still the same.

We're the faithful, the corrupt, the ones you want to be,
The lies we told were just a cover, it's what you see.
We're forever looking forward but never getting far,
Because we're humans with a destiny. That's who we are.

Begin, middle and end

It started with a brief glare,
A bewildered time, where
No judgement stood to rule.

It continued with a lost hope
A forgotten life unable to cope,
Full of doubt, and unfulfilled dreams.

It ended with a last breath,
Fearful of life, and of death
But still sure of what's to come.

Yes, it's short. I'm also not sure how I feel about it. Figured I'd post all the same.

Huh.. Can you tell I don't write poetry much?

I have needed to be brave for so long.
To close my eyes, and stay strong.

So many days have passed in silence,
With unspoken words, and unseen violence.

Today I stand here before your eyes,
Without a thought, nor disguise.

Now I am here for one purpose only.
To break the mould that has made me lonely.

To fight, to breathe-to show who I can be.
However long it takes to be free.

I need to show you who I’ve been hiding,
All the thoughts I’ve been biding.

They’ve all led me to where I stand,
On an uncertain future on deserted land.

Come, what are you waiting for my friend?
Afraid to hear what may be the end?

Maybe it’s time to own up and hear,
All the words you have grown to fear.

Time has a way of revealing our fate,
So stand before me now-and don’t be late.

Come-this is a one time show after all.
A simple message before my call.

So stand and hear the words I’ve never spoken.
“I need to be me, and to not feel broken.”

I have been afraid for far too long.
Of feeling like I was in the wrong.

Should I not have felt this way?
Scared, alone and afraid to fray?

No-This is my time to shine.
To laugh for once, and to feel fine.

So pull this memory, this single strand.
This is me telling you-Where I stand.

I really enjoyed reading "Where I Stand". It's a very powerful piece with a lovely hint of: "F you I am me"!

I hope if this is personal to you that you maintain this attitude to life.  :thumb:

That's actually spot on, and very personal. A lot of my writings and such is actually, probably more than it should be.

'Where I stand' was meant to be a title for one of my unwritten stories, but the three small words sort of stuck with me. I may use them again as a chapter of something, but I really wanted to see what I could do with them before then.
Thanks for the feedback Bxtch! (And I'll try and maintain the attitude, although I'm my own worst enemy at times when it comes to stuff like that.  :ninja:. Half the time I'm trying to listen to my own advice, the other times..I'm not so lucky.)

(A song I wrote a number of years ago. Found a handwritten version that my mum dropped off with a bunch of other pieces. Just recently updated a little.

One of my favourite poems/songs I've ever written.)

Envy
Written by Kirsty (‘Phoenix’)Wheeler

(Intro)
We all hold a form of glory,
   One that hides our disguise.
   Please-just listen to this story,
Then decide if they’re all lies.

(Verse 1)
If you walk out the rusty gate,
You will see the only boy,
Everyone else is tied up in hate,
They don’t listen to his story.

(Verse 2)
His eyes have become so dark,
As he holds the pain inside.
His heart may never heal, and mark
   The day his mother died.

(Chorus)
   They’ll never be like you,
Never be as brave nor strong.
It’s up to you to change your view,
   On what is going on.

This tale needs to be spoken,
Needs to be remembered and told.
So the ones that feel broken,
   Can feel warm-not cold.

(Verse 3)
If you walk along you will view,
The lonely girl with hidden seams.
   Moving through another avenue,
   With her long forgotten dreams.

(Verse 4)
Unable to laugh, unable to play,
   Unable to move forward or
   Be able to move away-
Is this something you can ignore?

(Chorus)

(End-Verse 7)
These words may seem to weak,
But the reason behind them to strong.
   Remember, we are all unique-
So why can’t we get along?

Heh, thanks. I don't often write poetry any more, but this was always one of my favourites from ages ago. Figured I kind of had to post it up for that reason.
There are more poems that I have in a notebook, that I'm hoping to get my hands on at some point in the next month or so, but I doubt it.
This thread should see some more love then though, if I do, as I'll be able to type my favourites out.
could even do a thread with some of my least favourites and see how bizarre other people can make them.  :ninja:

Okay, now I have ideas... :insertevillaughhere:
